Dental implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically positioned
into the jawbone beneath your gums. Once in place, they allow your dentist
to mount replacement teeth onto them. Because implants fuse to your
jawbone, they provide stable support for artificial teeth. Dentures and
bridges mounted to implants won't slip or shift in your mouth — an
especially important benefit when eating and speaking.
This secure fit helps the dentures and bridges — as well as individual crowns placed over implants — feel more natural than conventional bridges or dentures.
Bridges and Veneers
Bridge is a fixed replacement for a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge can be made of porcelain bonded to metal alloys, which may contain gold, silver, nickel, chromium, titanium and molybdenum metal alloys containing cobalt chromium, titanium, aluminium and vanadium. Bridges may also be made of other non-metallic materials.
Veneer is a new surface to fit over the front of a tooth. Veneers can be made of porcelain composite materials (the materials that make white fillings). Porcelain veneers are more realistic looking and long-lasting but also much more expensive than composite veneers.
Zoom is a bleaching process widely used throughout the country and around the world to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin. Tooth discoloration may result from drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine; or from smoking. The aging process also can stain and darken your teeth. The Zoom in-office tooth whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp – said to accelerate the bleaching process – to activate the 25 percent hydrogen peroxide whitening. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.
A root canal is a dental procedure done in an effort to save a tooth. Also called endodontic therapy, root canals involve removing damaged or decayed tissue from inside the tooth, disinfecting the tooth, and finally filling the "canals" inside the tooth with cement and a soft material called gutta-percha. This gutta-percha is a softer isomer of rubber, and it provides an airtight seal inside the tooth. Finally, depending on the amount of tooth structure lost to trauma or decay, either a filling or crown is used to restore function back to the tooth.
Cosmetic dentistry is a method of professional oral care that focuses on improving the appearance of your mouth, teeth and smile. And although cosmetic dentistry procedures are usually elective, rather than essential, some cases of treatment also provide restorative benefits. The most common procedures used in cosmetic dentistry are fairly simple, whereas others are more complex and require specialized care.
Invisalign is a custom-made aligner that is interchanged roughly every two weeks for a period of six to eighteen months, or longer depending on the severity of misalignment. Similar to a mouth or dental retainer (which is designed to keep teeth from shifting out of place), an Invisalign aligner is used for orthodontic treatment as a technique to move and properly align teeth for a beautiful smile. This clear aligner is usually computer generated from a mold (or impression) of the patient’s teeth taken by either a dentist or an orthodontist and the fitting is unique to each patient only.
If you suspect you may have sleep apnea, the first thing to do is see your doctor. Bring with you a record of your sleep, fatigue levels throughout the day, and any other symptoms you might be having. Ask your bed partner if he or she notices that you snore heavily, choke, gasp, or stop breathing during sleep. Be sure to take an updated list of medications, including over the counter medications, with you any time you visit a doctor for the first time. You may want to call your medical insurance provider to find out if a referral is needed for a visit to a sleep center.

An affordable choice
All-on-4 is reasonably priced for those who want a full arch solution using implants. This system uses tilted implants to eliminate the need for extensive bone grafting, and there are four implant points for the structure. This means you don't have to have each tooth treated separately.
A quick solution : teeth in a day
All-on-4 offers a fairly quick solution for those who need to replace multiple teeth and wish to do so in a short period of time. Since there is no bone grafting, this procedure can be placed on the day of surgery. Find out more about how this is done by contacting us today.
